Get a big pot, cover the bottom of it with a layer of oil, like peanut, corn, soy...whatever... then put it on a low-to-medium heat burner after you add kernels for your popcorn. Depends on how much popcorn you want to make as to how much you should add.

Many people believe that popcorn is a good old American tradition. Many historians have found hard evidence that proves otherwise. Long before the silver screen or Mark McGuire were ever around there was popcorn. The oldest known popcorn site is a bat cave in Mexico, discovered in 1948. Historians that the Cachise Indians grew and popped popcorn because of the ears of corn and the location they were found in.

Popcorn was also used in first contact between the natives and the settlers at Plymouth Rock on the first Thanksgiving. By the time the Europeans had come to this continent, many if not all native tribes had discovered popcorn.

Popcorn was not only used as food but as decoration as many do today for their Christmas trees. Many European explorers found native tribes decorating head dresses and eating them as well.
